MECEE Exam 2024: Dates, Result, Fees, Admit Card, Syllabus

Introduction to MECEE

The MECEE (Medical Education Common Entrance Examination) is the entrance exam for international students aiming to study MBBS in Nepal. Conducted by the Medical Education Commission (MEC), the MECEE 2024 offers a streamlined way to apply to various medical colleges and institutions in Nepal.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks or a GPA of 2.4.

Registration Process

To register for the MECEE 2024, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the MEC official website at entrance.mec.gov.np.
  2. Create an account using a new email ID and password.
  3. Verify your email and log back in.
  4. Fill out your online profile under the “Basic Information” tab.
  5. Pay the exam fee of NPR 8000 (Rs. 5043 for Indians, USD 60 for international students) online via Credit/Debit card.
  6. Complete the online application form and upload the necessary documents (passport-size photo, passport/Aadhar card, signature, 12th-grade marksheet, and exam fee payment slip).
  7. Submit the form and download the confirmation page.

  • Passport-size photo (JPEG, max 200KB)
  • Passport/Aadhar card (JPEG or PDF, max 500KB)
  • Signature (JPEG, max 200KB)
  • 12th-grade marksheet (JPEG or PDF, max 500KB)
  • Exam fee payment slip or transaction reference number

Admit Card

The admit card will be available online 5 days before the exam date. Download it from your MEC account.

Exam Pattern

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Questions: 200 MCQs
  • Scoring: +1 for correct answers, -0.25 for incorrect answers

Exam Day Guidelines

  • Bring your admit card and original ID (passport or Aadhar card).
  • Arrive at least 2 hours before the exam.
  • Do not bring ornaments, jewelry, electrical devices, or any accessories.
  • A black gel pen will be provided; no need to bring any stationery.
  • Latecomers (over 15 minutes) will not be allowed to enter.

NEET and MECEE

Indian students with 50% or more in the NEET exam can opt out of the MECEE by selecting the subcategory II “Foreign not to appear MECEE-BL 2024” during application. However, they can only choose seats unfilled after the MECEE selection process.
