NEET 2020 Exam Date postponed midway COVID-19

NEET is the only undergraduate level entrance exam conducted every year for MBBS admission in India. The registration for the current year started on December 2, 2019. The last date for NEET registration was January 1, 2020. Post that a correction window of 6 days was provided to MBBS aspirants from February 13 to 19, 2020. During the period, students were allowed to make corrections in the application submitted earlier. March 27, 2020, was declared as the NEET released date for admission card and the accustomed NEET exam date was May 3, 2020. 

But midway COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease) the competitive NEET exam is postponed as of now. Official notification was published by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union Cabinet Minister for Human Resource Development (MHRD). According to the notification, the exam date, as well as admit card release dates, are cancelled. 

The new dates for the same will be decided by the NTA (National Testing Agency) and MHRD post-April 15, 2020. Also, it has been notified that the exam may be conducted either in the last week of May or the first week of June. 

NTA has advised students as well as parents not to be worried about the academic year. The health of the students is equally important. Therefore, the step has come into being.
