NEET tips & tricks for UG Counselling

As soon as NEET results are out students must register for NEET UG Counselling. It is a crucial stage towards your medical as it requires you to lock a seat during MBBS counselling. This can’t happen if you don’t understand the counselling procedure. Therefore, before you appear for the counselling, you must understand the NEET 2020 steps broadly.

Register on the MCI website

It may sound lame, but it is true. Some students forget to register themselves on the Medical Council of India (MCI) website for the counselling. Instead, they appear at the venue, which is incorrect. Make sure you don’t repeat it. Register on the MCI website as soon as possible

Be updated about the counselling dates

After you have registered yourself, make sure you are up to date about the counselling dates. Especially, if you have applied in different states. The first thing you must check if any of the dates coincide. If not, good and if it coincides, choose the priority option

Select colleges wisely during choice filling

Before you go for the main event, prepare for it in advance. It includes college selection based on the fee structure, facilities offered, quality of education, maintaining calm, etc. During choice filling, do not select more than two options in different states. Whereas, for nearby areas, you may choose up to five options that don’t include much travel

Avoid penalty for not appearing in the counselling

You have NEET Scorecard in hands which proves that you have qualified. But if you don’t appear for the counselling, all your hard work will be in vain. Moreover, you will invite a penalty for not attending the counselling. Therefore, avoid the penalty by appearing for the counselling on-time

Prepare yourself financially

After the counselling is completed, the student must report to the allotted college within 10 days. When a student report at the college, they must submit the yearly fee. At times, it becomes difficult for the parents to arrange a big pile of money on an urgent basis. Hence, it is important to be prepared financially from day

Cross-check the fee structure from the college’s website

The fee structure mentioned during the choice filling may differ from the actual college fee mentioned on the college’s website. It is therefore advisable to cross-check the fee structure in advance
